Monica is an Italian artist, born in Rome in 1978. 

At the age of three, the family moved to Treviso, in the North East of the country.

Her Art Studies took place at Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, and focused on Photography and Installations. 

During her studies, she participated in some collective exhibitions in Venice and other cities in Italy. Some of these are: “Circuito off ”, “ Tratti da se“, “Io click”, “Corporea”. 

Following this phase Monica decided to distance herself from the exhibition scene, to focus on field jobs in photography and fashion, with a particular interest in ‘Upcycling’.

In the meantime, she also felt the desire to share her passion for visual arts, and therefore  began a large  journey in Arts education as a teacher.

In 2022 she felt the necessity to leave Italy to broaden her creative horizons, and decided to move to the vibrant city of Valencia, Spain. This is a phase of rediscovery and creative awakening, where she had to begin almost from scratch. Initially she managed all the creative operations within a Vintage store in the heart of Russafa (the creative centre of the city), handling creative concept, photoshoots and styling of the merchandise. 

It was here were she got the inspiration to merge her passion for upcycling with her art background, starting with the production of painted and customised recycling pieces, these were eventually exposed and sold in store. From here Monica felt the desire go beyond and move her art into canvas.
